PRESS RELEASE

Slape named NTGCR secretary

Tulsa,OK– March 30th 2010

The National Tribal Gaming Commissioners/Regulators Board of Directors has named Ms. Dovey Slape, Nisqually Tribal Gaming Commission Chair. Ms. Slape was appointed to the position after the former Secretary, Barbara Kyser-Collier, resigned from office.

In addition to twenty (20) years serving the State of Washington’s Employment Security Department, Ms. Slape has served on numerous committees for her tribe, including the Enrollment Committee, Environmental Committee, Planning Committee, and has served four (4) years on Tribal Council. Upon completing her term as Tribal Councilmember, Ms. Slape was appointed to the Gaming Commission where she was Secretary prior to becoming the Chair. She has served ten (10) years on the Gaming Commission.

“I am excited about working with Dovey.” said Jamie Hummingbird, NTGCR Chairman. “She has been a long-time supporter of the organization and I believe she will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Board.”

Ms. Slape’s appointment will cover the unexpired term created by the resignation of Barbara Kyser-Collier, Executive Director of the Quapaw Tribal Gaming Agency, who was selected or a third term as Secretary by the NTGCR membership in September 2009.

In addition, Collier has served as the Chairperson for the Oklahoma Tribal Gaming Regulators Association and was awarded the Bruce Longhorn Excellence in Regulation Award by Ernie Stevens, Jr., Chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association, in 2009.

The NTGCR is a non-profit organization consisting of sixty-five (65) members and other non-voting affiliate members. The organization is dedicated to providing tribal gaming regulators with education and training. The NTGCR promotes cooperative relationships amongst tribes and may act as a gaming regulatory advisory group to tribal gaming organizations.
