Green Bay, WI – September 16, 2016 – The National Tribal Gaming Commissioners/Regulators Scholarship Committee announced the recipients of the NTGCR Fall 2016 scholarship awards. This semester’s recipients were selected from seven (7) applicants from across the country. The recipients are: Hannah Zollner and Sean Lawrence, both Tribal Members of Lummi Nation.
Each student will receive a $2,500.00 scholarship to assist with tuition, books, meal cards and living expenses. Recipients were selected based on academic grade point average, exhibition of leadership, community involvement, written essay, letter of recommendations, accomplishments and professional development.
Applicants for the spring semester will be taken until December 31, 2016. Applications can be downloaded at the organization’s website, www.ntgcr.com.
The NTGCR is a non-profit organization consisting of tribal regulatory members and other non-voting affiliate members. The organization is dedicated to providing tribal gaming regulators with education and training. The NTGCR promotes cooperative relationships amongst tribes and may act as a gaming regulatory advisory group to tribal gaming organizations.
